Hello everyone, I have a question that I can't understand. Why does the Starkey Livio 1200 receiver get blocked with sweat? For 3 or 4 summer months it becomes unusable, so much so that I had to buy an HA Resound Key4 that doesn't get blocked at all with sweat but has terrible audio. So, in your opinion, how can I solve the problem with the Starkey Livio 1200? Thank you very much.

I think you are asking about the (Starkey Livio 1200 RIC) model.
Have you changed the wax filters?

yes thank you very much, unfortunately nothing has ever changed, my AP even changed the filter with a spring filter, and this time nothing has changed either, he said months and months ago that nothing could be done, for this reason I bought another urgent prosthesis and that it would not clog due to my work in which I have to wear it, but I found out about your wonderful forum in which I was given a lot of help for my problems, and I hope for this too, thank you very much

This is my Starkey Livio 1200 that was taken out of use during the summer months. The audio quality is really excellent, but unfortunately it stops working with sweat after less than a minute.

This is my Resound Key4 instead, replacing the Starkey Livio 1200, which is either awful or poorly adjusted in terms of audio, but the receiver doesn't get blocked at all with sweat, which is why I'm looking for a hearing aid that does both, but obviously if it's possible to solve the problem with the Starkey Livio 1200, I won't spend any more money, thank you very much.

HMm; A hearing aid that doesn't work? If you bought the (Starkey Livio 1200 RICs) from this same "AP", then this is not acceptable!
But maybe you bought the (Starkey Livio 1200 RICs) from another source other than your current "AP"?

Have you tried wearing the (Starkey Livio 1200 RICs) with Domes instead of the custom-fitted Molds?

Yes, this is my first AP. Yes, even with the domes it clogs up. What can I do? Thank you so much.

It's the Starkey receiver that's like this, but is there a fix? Is it possible that no one has the same problem with the Starkey Livio 1200? Thanks.

I don't know if there is a fix? But I can say who should know. Starkey-and-your-AP should know.!! Why is this your problem? Why isn't this a problem for Starkey-and-your-AP???

Here's an image of a balanced armature technology, which is the technology used for RIC hearing aids;

Yes, this is a very serious problem for me, and I think I even contacted Starkey about my AP, and it hasn't solved anything for months. What are these photos you sent me? Do they solve my problem? Where can I buy them? I know how to change the receiver myself. Let me know, thanks a lot.

This is the balanced armature technology (A.K.A. miniature speaker) that is the inside components of your Starkey receivers.

Typically, you need to resolve problems with hearing aids not working (within the time-constraints of your warranty). Read your Warranty. Demand a refund (if you can) because it doesn't work!

Will this technology solve my problem? No, I'm afraid the warranty has expired. I purchased them in December 2022 after my third surgery for three acoustic neuroma tumors.

You already have this technology.
Balanced (balanced armature / small speaker / receiver) are all the same.

Oh, your Audiogram shows Single-sided deafness. Sorry, I can't help with that. I am not a professional audiologist.

Thank you so much for your precious help. Congratulations to the whole forum, wonderful people, truly thank you.

Do you have free hearing aid trials in your geographical location?

Free Trials allow you to try different hearing aid brands.
  • Though, you must be very careful about trial expiration dates, otherwise you may have to Pay-Full-Price.
  • You must be very careful not to lose the trial hearing aids hearing, otherwise you may have to Pay-Full-Price.
  • Ask for a copy of the contract before you order trial hearing aids when you have plenty of time to read the entire contract.
  • Take great care to return the trial hearing aids before the expiration date!!

Excuse me, but the Signia software doesn't appear as a desktop program like other software. Thank you very much.

Excuse me, but the Signia software doesn't appear as a desktop program like other software. Thank you very much.
  • I think you mean that it doesn't have a desktop icon.
  • Not all hearing aid fitting software will "create" a desktop icon
  • Click Start and then click "All"
Then you will have to scroll down to find the Signia Software executable file.

Yes, I mean this, but it doesn't say everything. Is there a way to put it on the desktop? Thanks.
