I learned the meaning of 'The Costco Way' of fitting hearing aids, and it is for Profit Motivation and Not for best practices fitting hearing aids to patients needs.
In my case, I was told that despite Philips hearsuite recommending a 100db receiver to fit and treat my left ear prescription requirements, Costco ignores Philips recomendations to save money.
So they fit me with an 85db receiver, and told me I had to accept frequency shifting of 3000-10000hz down on top on 0-3000HZ if I wanted to hear in left ear.
I ended up returning hearing aids because frequency shifting sounded horrible and I can hear above 3000hz with 100db receiver from real audiologist's office.
So Costco Way pushes profits over customer needs!
