I'm feeling brave :)

I'm Deanne. I'm in my 30's, married with two kids, 5 chickens, a German exchange student and 2 cats.

My right ear has always been a mess. I had 3 surgeries and tubes by the time I was 12. After my last surgery my hearing tested out ok but by high school I realized it wasn't as good as my left ear. By my 30's, I couldn't talk on the phone in my right ear, couldn't hear my alarm clock, etc. I finally went back to the audi and voila, moderate/severe rising slope loss. Yep, I'm weird :p I wore one aid for a few years until about 2 years ago when I realized my left ear wasn't picking up the slack anymore. Moderate high-frequency loss. Great :) So, my chart makes a funny shape. It's been getting worse for about 4 years and there's really no reason to think it won't continue.

I'm learing ASL and am lucky enough to have a deaf neighbor although he's very, very oral and only signs when I can't understand him. I just finished up a local asl class which wasn't very good but hey, better than nothing.

So, Hi!!!
