In case you don't have the Oticon Genie 2 fitting software installed here's what Genie 2 help files say;

Transfer Settings
Use this tool to transfer programs and settings from one instrument to another in a follow-up fitting session. You can transfer settings from a selected fitting session to a new style, to another fitting level or to a different family.

The transfer copies the standard insertion gain from the source instrument – as closely as possible, given the limitations of the target instrument – and adjusts it to the new acoustic setup.

Programs and settings that are not available in the target will not be transferred; settings that do not have identical values will be set to default or calculated.

The following settings will not be transferred:

  • Accessories pairings (except if the source and target instruments are the same).
  • In-situ Audiometry results.
  • Feedback measurements.
NOTE: If the source instrument uses automatic gain adaptation, the adaptation step number will be calculated in the target, and automatic gain adaptation will be turned off.

It goes on to explain;
How to transfer settings
Genie 2 lets you transfer settings when you connect a new target instrument in the Selection step, or in simulation mode when you select a new target.

NOTE: Do not let the client wear the instruments during the transfer.

To transfer settings from the source to the target, do the following:

  • Connect
  • Open the fitting session with the source instrument.
  • Connect the target instrument, i.e. the one you want to transfer settings to. See Connect instruments.
  • The selection dialogue opens, letting you transfer settings.
  • A dialogue opens and displays the settings that will be transferred and those that will not. Click Next.
  • If necessary, change the acoustics for the target. Click Transfer.
  • The settings that have been transferred and those that have not are displayed. Click Done.
  • Click Report to see a detailed Transfer Settings report.
Simulation mode
  • Open a fitting session.
  • Select a target and proceed to the Fitting step.
  • In the Tools menu, click Transfer Settings.
  • A dialogue opens and displays the settings that will be transferred and those that will not. Click Next.
  • If necessary, change the acoustics for the target. Click Transfer.
  • The settings that have been transferred and those that have not are displayed. Click Done.
  • Click Report to see a detailed report from the Transfer Settings session.

Generate report
You can generate a report from the Transfer Settings tool. Click Report in the last step to generate a PDF file of the Transfer Settings report. The report is available and can be generated only during the session in which Transfer Settings was done. When you have closed the session, the report is no longer available.

To generate a report after you have closed the Transfer Settings tool, click in the toolbar or click Generate report in the task pane in the End Fitting step. See Generate report.

The report contains a summary of the latest Transfer Settings session. The settings that were calculated or set to default are marked with an asterisk (*).

If you have transferred settings several times in one session, the report will generate only the results from the latest session. The date and time when Transfer Settings was performed will be displayed in the report header.
