Hello, I have the Philips 9040 hearing aids purchased from Costco. one aid only charges to 90% with about 9.5 hours usage the other has 14 hours, this after overnight charging and per the Hear Link app. My questions for the forum:
  • I believe these hearing aids to be private labelled versions of Oticon product, correct?
  • They do use the Z22A battery, I opened the battery door quite easily and checked.
  • Can I simply replace the battery with a new one, much like one would replace the battery on a watch? Simply by swapping swap it out or would I need to have some type of reprograming done? Note that these aids are out of warranty (just by about 3 weeks).
  • Where can I purchase the Z22A battery?
I would appreciate any insight provided, these are my first hearing aids.

Check Aliexpress or Amazon for Z22A battery. You need to solder the battery. Maybe ask the mobile phone accessory shop to change it for you for a small fee. You need the software to reset the date of installation.

PhilipsHearLink hearing aids are related to Oticon Real. If you have the rechargable HearLink 9040 hearing aids then the recharable batteries for the rechargable HA of Oticon Real (and Oticon More, Oticon Zircon) are working also for Philips , and the battery can easy replaced by opening the battery door. The rechargable Oticon Real / More devices using rechargable Z22A battery, and the rechargable Real/More hearing aids have a battery door
You can replace Philips 9040 battery with Z22A battery.
