My daughter currently has the Phonak Audeo P (Paradise) 70-312 aids. Late last year, we went for our regular audiology appointment and asked to get new ear molds as it had been more than a year. When we got the new molds, they were noticeably smaller and weren’t as secure in her ears. We contacted our audiologist (who is great) and she tried to order another new set in the ‘old’ style. Those came back, but were once again smaller and less secure. I’ve attached a couple of pictures that, to me, don’t really accurately display the difference between the two sets. I’m hoping there is a hearing aid mold expert lurking that can help me get some knowledge and, perhaps, be very specific with the type of mold that i have my audiologist order. I think we’ve both lost the original order form so we’re kind of guessing.

I've worn Starkey aids for more than 20 years. I have a severe loss except "bass" sounds. So mine shut out all noise except that. My molds fill my ear. They are "technically" ear plugs with an air hole . Those look like the aids that are called "in the canal" or something like that.. The audiologist should have known or asked. The company should still have the original mold and the audiologist should replace those small molds. Maybe the audiologist thought these would be more comfortable, which they are. But not at the expense of improper fit or performance. Good luck... Make a good day... I'm Always Learning, Always Training. Richard M
