I am not a DIY--- but seeking answers for an ongoing issue with Oticon Intent 1 hearing aids with custom mold and 105db receiver.
I am desperate for guidance with my New Oticon Intent 1 hearing aids. The Intents work flawlessly until they don't. I have experienced several complete shut downs with one or the other aid of the hearing aids. Never both at the same time.
The common thread is that the shut down occurs after a loud noise. Two document shut downs occurred by neighbors lawnmower and cordless vacuum. One aid will shut down completely and cannot be revived even on an overnight charge. Battery levels are fine prior to shut down.
My audiologists has swapped out the dead aid several times-reloaded my fitting program and sent me on my way only to have the problem re-occur a day or two later or even a week or too.
I am convinced their is something in my software fitting - sound stablization/ transient noise that is the root of the problem. This is not a moisture problem as one aid died less than 24 hours after being obtained. Oticon has been silent to me as a consumer when I reported this to them.
My audiologist keeps swapping out one aid for a brand new aid -reloads my program each time-- and the shut downs continue! No one has looked into the root of this problem! So far Oticon and audiologist has been happy to hand out brand no aid for dead one --- I am desperate for a solution. I am out of my trail period but still under a 3 year warranty.
I am 68 years old, long time Oticon user for last 25+ years.
This is my first experience in a rechargeable aid after many many battery type hearing aids. I still have a functioning 2007 Oticon ITE Epoq that works but cant be programmed to my current loss. I am currently relying on my older Real 1 to survive.
What changes can be made into my fitting program that might address this problem if it is related to noise? Should I ask my audiologist to wipe clean my Intent program and just reload my Real program? She made some tweaks to the Intent program after REM. My Reals have no shut down issues--ever!
