Hafa adai, all,
I am a 60 year old USAF Retiree and schoolteacher.
About 10 months ago I suffered a Sudden Hearing loss in my left ear, and mid-frequencies are seriously degraded. I expected the VA to help with the cost of an aid, but have just discovered that since my household income is "too high" they will not see me, never mind my 22 years of service (rant mode off).
My insurance (Tricare) doesn't cover the aid OR a referral to our off base Audiologist. Fortunately, there is now an Audiologist at Naval Hospital, who I will see next week.
Glad to find this forum. I'm curious about mail-order hearing aids, as we don't have a Costco or Sam's Club here, and I have no intention of spending $3000.
Outside of all this, Guam is good, and life is GREAT!
