Hello and thanks for all

What is the the best fit formula for sloping hearing loss
There are many such as nal-nl1 and 2
Nal-R OR E-STAT.

Oh sorry, the above link was pointing to somewhere mid-thread. It is now fixed to point to the beginning of the thread about various fitting rationales.

I think the best way to know perfect formula is trying each one and see what the best.

Looks like you already have the answer. Wonder why you bother asking? Also, your question is not specific enough. Best formula for what? For speech in noise? For music? For overall natural sounding perception?

I know that you did say for sloping hearing loss (precipitous loss), but most people have sloping hearing loss, so that's not specific enough. If you had said for cookie bite type hearing loss, then that's more specific because cookie bite losses are not as common. Or for reverse ski slope loss, which is also not as common.

After playing a lot with my fitting software and doing research, I've learned that formulas are starting points. For me, DSL was the closest to what I wanted and the one that performed better with the Mimi app (I still had to do adjustments ). So yes, try all of them and choose your preferred one.

The paper below is a good read. According to the authors, DSL is better for soft speech than NAL, but at conversational levels, there was little difference.
