Hello everybody
I'm using hearing aids for the first time, I have severe to profound hearing loss on my right ear and mild hearing loss on high frequencies on my left ears.
I got a referral to SpecSavers through the NHS. They gave me Signia Stretta M.
I found this forum and I've been reading some of the posts, people here seem to be very knowledgeable so I would appreciate some help in navigating this space.
1. I understand these are relatively old models. Would a new model make a difference in how clear I can hear?
2. According to the "Unlocking ReBranded Hearing Aids" file, for this model "no lock code, just use Connexx Signia". Could somebody facilitate it to me?
3. Do I need a base station to use Connexx, or does the program connect to the HA via bluetooth?
4. I think I got a "Signia sleeves 3.0 power dome" for my right ear. I'm not sure if that's enough for the kind of hearing loss I have. Should I request a mold to the audiologist at SpecSavers?
5. I only got the domes that were fitted to the HA. I read that you're supposed to change them periodically. Should I buy some or is it something SpecSavers should provide?

Sorry for all the questions, thank you for any help!

Here's a clip from a DIY School Hearing Aids (v2.2) PDF File named (02 How to Program your Hearing Aids);
Step 2 - Purchase a hearing aid programming device

For DIY self programming you will need a hearing aid programming device/hardware. Bluetooth Pairing technology is for streaming Audio and such. You are not streaming Audio. Also, you cannot use Remote fitting. Please read a DIY School file named (01 Free Hearing Aid Fitting Software) as to why.

Selecting the correct programming device is not a trivial step because older/legacy hearing aids use cables and such to connect the hearing aid programming device to the hearing aids. In order to avoid Noahlink Wireless driver problems, try installing the fitting software first (before plugging in your programming device) If you do encounter Noahlink Wireless driver problems, read a DIY School PDF file named (Noahlink Wireless - Instructions For Use) and scroll down to a section named (Noahlink Wireless Driver Errors).

This is a question for your Audiologist. If you can easily afford the cost then you should experiment and find out for yourself. We cannot see your hearing loss/Audiogram, as you can mine because it is linked in my Signature Line below each of my posts.

Yes, and then maybe Yes if Spesavers if feeling generous. Your audiologist may or may not provide freebees in order to foster a friendly relationship.

My wife is relatively old. HMm, I wonder if...
Oh wait, so am I, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
