I have been wearing Phonak aids for years but need an updated hearing aid and I’m trying out the Starkey Edge. The reason I am is because I also wear a Medel cochlear implant and that company has worked with Starkey to allow for bi-model simultaneous streaming. So far, i’ve had the initial fitting and one adjustment with the Starkey. What I hear that bothers me right now with speech is a hissy sound and also a bit of a buzzy sound. Also, It doesn’t sound loud enough for voices but if I turn it up, it sounds more distorted. I’m not hearing an improvement in the restaurant program or the Edge Mode. I have another appointment with my audiologist soon and wondered if any of you might have some insight on what might be going on that I could share with her. I’d really like for these hearing aids to work. Thank you.
