I've sourced a second-hand pair of (ex NHS) Ambio 77's and set them up with an
In-Situ Audiogram.

The Danalogic fitting software (1.18) seems not to have any "feature" to control "impact/transient" noise reduction that I can find.

Anyone dabbled with these and found out how to reduce that type of sound?

Try Help from within the hearing aid fitting software, or search from within the hearing aid fitting software Help feature;
  • digital noise suppression
  • noise suppression

Thanks for the info. I'm fairly thorough in searching prior to posting on forums. The "Help" within the fitting software links to a pdf on the Danalogic webby, and seems very much an overview with little detail. So, unless it's tucked away under a different name/description, Impulse Noise Reduction may not feature in the Ambio Aids/Danalogic Fitting Software. Interestingly the Resound SmartFit does mention Impulse Noise Reduction, but doesn't recognise the Ambio aids. Not too surprising being NHS aids.

Search for "noise" in the Danalogic 1.18 User Guide, among other things it says;

Default Programs
  • P1 - All Around NOTE: Directionality settings are All Access Directionality for binaural fittings, SoftSwitching for monarual fittings; Directionality settings are different for technology levels 7 and 5.
  • P2 – Hear in Noise Note that the number of initial programs may vary depending on the market installation selected

The Danalogic 1.18 User Guide is included along with the other hearing aid setup files.

Also, from the Help; Danalogic 1.10 Help: Guides will show the Danalogic 1.18 User Guide

Thanks again for your thorough research pvc which mirrors mine. Resound Smartfit has Impulse Noise Reduction on this webpage. I've loaded Smartfit and see Impulse Noise Reduction in the fitting software.

Regarding Danalogic fitting software or guide, I’ve found no mention of Impulse Noise Reduction or anything mentioning anything similar to the Resound Smartfit description "Quickly detects and reduces amplification for sudden, brief loud noises."

Time to put this one to bed methinks.

Your assistance is much appreciated.

You can't go by the BuzzWord names.
Read Help / Feature Demonstrations / Noise Tracker II

Use/Read Danalogic 1.18 and not SmartFit
ReBranded hearing aids are the same hardware, Though possibly defeatured?

But not the same software.

Oh, I meant different software is used in most cases. Sometimes (though only rarely) the exact same software is used. I think you should understand Noise Tracker II and how to use it for Danalogic 1.18. Also mentioned was the noise handling difference between P1 and P2. I think you should investigate both of these areas.

Advanced Features / Comfort Noise Tracker II
  • Off
  • Mild
  • Moderate
  • Considerable
  • Strong
  • Per Environment

Time to attempt to understand a GUI/Graphical-User-Interface that doesn't track closely to marketing claims for premium models. MeThinks.

Impulse Noise Reduction is only found on “Ambio Smart” model, the regular Ambio doesn’t have this.

I know as I have the Smart model myself.
