G’day, I’m new here; sorry if I’m repeating a former question.

I’ve lost the right ear’s tru hearing TH 6 ric li t. I have no clue where it went. (I was wearing it w/o a rubber or plastic thing on the part that goes into the ear canal - I couldn’t find one to fit that was comfortable; my TruHearing rep was out of them.) I imagine it fell out and then … ? The puppy? The vax?

Anyway, I’ve given up looking for it. I’d like to find a used TH 6 RIC Li T (right).

Are there any fakes on the market I should look out for?

Any reasons why not to buy a used one?

Many thanks for your time and reply, DeafAsAStone

There is no right or left hearing aid. They are all the same widget. The correct side is determined (or changed) during a fitting session.

A fake ReBranded hearing aid? I don't think so. A ReBranded hearing is already a fake (so-to-speak). That is, it's already a copy of another premium brand (namely a Signia hearing aid model (for this case), though likely one of the slightly de-featured models). So why would someone bother to create a copy of a copy?

Yes there is! I believe that the → TruHearing 6 LI T Receiver-in-the-Canal (RIC) hearing aid uses Rechargeable Batteries.
  • Rechargeable Batteries don't last forever and they are not replaceable!
  • Suggested DIY School reading on the subject = Li-ion Rechargeable Battery History, Li-ion Rechargeable Battery Replacement, Li-ion Rechargeable Battery Storage
The DIY School Hearing Aids (v2.2) access portals are at your finger tips via 24/7 cloud storage access.

The TH 6 comes in removeable or built in rechargeable battery. so getting a used one could have diminished service life due to battery life. But so does the one you still have. :) I have seen single hearing aids regularly on ebay. it may be harder to find one with a Telecoil to match what you have. Another option is to buy a cheap set then you will have a spare. Do you do DIY programming , if so it would be easy to transfer your setting to a new set of aids. If not, check with your provider if they will program a used set for You. I watch ebay , and if you keep your eye out, you can find some great bargains. of course you are also giving up support and warranty that you get when purchasing from a provider. one more thing, determine if you have th 6 premium or th 6 advanced. and color. On US ebay there is a pair at a good price. the item number is 236022227543 these are for a pair that takes removable batteries. i also saw a right side only that is on auction , starting bid price is only 49.00. number 127112146334

Oh, I forgot to mention that many ReBranded hearing aids are Code Locked. Though, these specific models don't seem to be locked.

My point is that you can't do this for all ReBranded hearing aid models.

Hmmm… on these, each can be programmed separately and the right side has a red dot on the top; the left one has a blue. They may be the same , I dunno. Thanks for your reply.

For the money? If there are knockoffs, a small transparent sticker with the model info could be affixed and sold as an original.

Thanks for your reply.

Bless you! Thank you so much for your reply and the time you took to write it.

hi, i am replying because i have had 3 different truhearing models. the receiver wire that is installed makes them right or left , so the one you have left is blue where the wire goes into the receiver. you could in theory take out the wire ( the blue spot is part of the wire) and put in a right receiver wire then the aid can be programmed as a right hearing aid.
the model you have for instance truhearing premium th 6 is can be confirmed it is printed on the inner curved part of the hearing aid there are different levels. you could also have truhearing advanced th 6. these are the same aids as signia charge&go 7AX and use the same programming software as signia called connexx. So they are in fact premium hearing aids. These are marketed as a more economical option to the Signia. Did you just get them recently? they are previous generation the most recent generation is TH 7. Hope this helps let me know if you have other questions?
